Big patch of purple color stain after one week of use.

I bought the Petkit eversweet water fountain with the wireless pump that uses the above filter. One week into using it, I found the filter with huge purple stain, so I changed it. A week later, the same thing happened again, I don't think it is healthy for my cat to drink from the fountain.
The filter supposed to last between 30-60 days and it didn't even last a week !!!

Please be assured that all materials used in our water fountain filters—such as activated carbon, filter mesh, and housing—are carefully selected and safety-certified. The filter itself does not produce any coloration, including purple. Its role is to absorb impurities from the water to enhance quality and taste.

In some cases, a color change may occur when the filter absorbs certain substances from the water or environment. This can include minerals, pigments, organic matter, oil from food or other elements that interact during filtration.

1. When was the filter last replaced and the fountain deep-cleaned?

2. What type of water is used? (Tap, purified, or boiled and cooled)

3. Have any additives (e.g., supplements or vitamins) been added to the water?

4. What brand of food or treats does your pet consume? Are any colored?

5. Is your pet taking any vitamins, supplements, or medication?

6. Where is the fountain placed, and what is the surrounding environment like?

7. Have you noticed any other changes (e.g., odor, cloudiness, or drinking habits)?

For best results, we recommend rinsing the filter weekly under water to remove any external matter, changing the water every few days, and replacing the filter regularly as per the manual. This helps maintain both water clarity and your pet’s health.
